"On The Beach" will be on display as part of the XXI edition of the prestigious Corigliano Calabro Festival in Italy. The exhibition opens on September 7 2024 (in the presence of the Author) and will continue until November 3 2024, at the Norman Castle of Corigliano (CS). A representative summary of this work will be exhibited, represented by 20 prints measuring 40x60 cm. Scenes of life and relaxation: bodies marked by time, without artifice, and make-up, which invite reflection on our perception of beauty. The one portrayed by Robbie McIntosh is an anarchic, passionate, authentic Naples, which lives from day to day. It is a work born in 2012, and always in progress. It is a celebration, without filters, without hypocrisy, of the human body, in all its forms. With its imperfections, typical of the human being. The Neapolitans he highlights are first of all men, with their own dignity and personality, with which the photographer never forgets to come into contact. An approach based on empathy: «Every time I shoot it's a blank slate». Robbie loves shooting analogue, yet he is also widely followed on social platforms for his ability to reach people, to tell Contemporary Naples through its raw and genuine images. The list of sources of inspiration for the Neapolitan McIntosh is long: Robert Frank, Sergio Larrain, Joseph Koudelka, William Klein, Martin Parr, William Eggleston, Nan Goldin, Joel Meyerowitz, Susan Meiselas, Abbas, Garry Winogrand… And then the cinema of Martin Scorsese and Nanni Moretti. And the paintings, among all the French Impressionists. During the inaugural weekend of the Corigliano Festival (September 7 and 8), Robbie McIntosh will be awarded as the winner of the V "Book Award" call, with his very recent work "Scampia Anno Zero"
